Black Dog Hunting's mission is to connect and heal Military Veterans through the sport of waterfowl hunting while providing an environment of peer-based mentoring and counseling. We do this across the country with a focus on mental health, providing once in a lifetime peer-based experiences in the outdoors.
Through incredible partner outfitters we execute events with a focus on connecting Veterans with their peers. Waterfowl hunting provides the opportunity for Veterans to hunt migratory birds through four distinct flyways. Throughout North America; the Pacific, Central, Mississippi, and Atlantic flyways bring migratory birds like ducks and geese down from far northern grounds to warmer climates in the fall and winter months. The waterfowl season typically runs from September through February with specific birds targeted throughout the season based on their individual migration patterns.
During these events, Black Dog Hunting works with Veteran participants to enforce our Four Mission Pillars of Learning, Catharsis, Hope, and Cohesiveness.
